Kristijan comes from Strumica and first travelled on a plane when he left the Balkans on his way to UWC. He graduated from UWC Costa Rica, and continued his education at Macalester College in Minnesota, USA, where he studied math and economics. He received his masters degree in computer science from Georgia Tech.
Professionally, Kristijan has worn many hats – he has worked in economic consulting, health care research, and a social media start up. These days, he is a data science manager, leading data engineering infrastructure initiatives and is deeply passionate about leveraging data to drive impact and innovation.
In his free time, Kristijan loves to stay active. He loves swimming, is training for a half marathon, is learning Italian and loves to go on hikes with his dog.
