UWC Mostar, 2011-2013

I'm Julija, from Kumanovo, a student at UWC Mostar between 2011-2013. UWC for me was a challenging and transformational experience. It gave me a unique opportunity to live, learn, grow and foster relationships with respectful, collaborative and creative people from all around the world. Those relationships helped me understand the importance of supporting and helping one another, wherever you are and will have a lifelong impact on me.

UWC was the perfect stepping stone, and my interest in science prepared me to continue my education at the University of Florida in the US, where I studied microbiology. Except science, what fascinates me are world cultures. I combined those two and moved to Israel where I was able to work and explore, all while continuing the UWC Mostar legacy of assisting in reconstruction of a conflict society by working at an International school in Tel Aviv with students from Eastern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern regions, along with students from all around the globe.

I am now pursuing a degree in materials engineering while working at a Research Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In my free time, you can join me for a swim or accompany me on a bike ride on one of the trails across the picturesque dynamic landscapes of Slovenia.
