Jovana Jovanovska

6 August 2020

UWC Mostar, 2016-2018

Jovana does not like monotony, so she tries to learn at least something new every day. Her curiosity is the main reason that led her to apply to UWC because this place allowed her to see the world through different perspectives and to find value in everything around her. After graduating from UWC Mostar, Jovana spent eight months in Senegal, where she assisted with English classes in an elementary school (and in the meantime she managed to learn Wolof, the most widely spoken language in the country). Jovana is currently a student at Lake Forest College in the United States, where she is studying biology and politics. Very often people look at her with confusion when she mentions her majors, but her goal is to bring science closer to the public and she believes that these two branches will help her in that. Furthermore, Jovana plans to continue her education by studying biotechnology. In her spare time, Jovana enjoys traveling (usually visiting her friends from UWC), having long deep conversations on any topic and also trying to be cool by learning how to play the ukulele.
